Doosan & Daewoo forklift model year lookup
Type the serial number from your data plate and get the model, the model year and the month it was built — straight from Doosan’s factory build records. Daewoo became Doosan in 2005; the serial system is the same, so both are covered.
Two letters or digits, a dash, then the number — exactly as stamped. Covers Daewoo and Doosan trucks built 1993–2011.
How To Find The Year of A Doosan or Daewoo Forklift
Every Doosan and Daewoo forklift carries a serial number on its data plate, and that number tells you when the truck was built. Use the lookup above to turn a serial number into the model, the model year and the build month. The results come from Doosan’s factory build records and the Doosan serial number guide, compiled by Next Lift Inc., an authorized Doosan dealer in Dayton, Ohio. It is free to use.
Daewoo Heavy Industries built these forklifts until 2005, when the lift truck division became Doosan. The serial number system did not change, so a 1998 Daewoo G25S-G and a 2007 Doosan G25E-3LP are read the same way, and both are covered here.
How to read a Doosan or Daewoo forklift serial number
Trucks built from 1993 through about 2011 use a two-character chassis prefix, a dash, and a five-digit sequence number: for example F8-00141. The prefix (F8) identifies the chassis and model family — here a BC15S electric — and the sequence number (00141) is the truck’s place in the build order for that prefix. Because trucks are numbered in build order, the first serial of each model year is a known boundary, and the serial number alone places a truck in its year.
Where to find it
The data plate is usually on the cowl or dash within reach of the operator’s seat; the exact spot varies by model. The serial number is also stamped into the frame, so if the plate is worn or painted over, look for the frame stamp.
Newer trucks
Newer Doosan trucks (roughly 2010 onward) use a longer serial with a five-character prefix, such as FGA0T-1790-00044. Those are not in the free guide yet; call us at 937-387-8140 with the serial and we will check the factory record for you.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find the year of my Doosan forklift?
Read the serial number from the data plate or the frame stamp and enter it in the lookup at the top of this page. For 1993–2011 trucks you will get the model, the model year and the month it was built. For newer serials, see our premium search option.
Are Daewoo and Doosan forklifts the same?
Yes. Daewoo’s lift truck division became Doosan Industrial Vehicle in 2005. The serial number system and most of the parts carried over, which is why the lookup covers both names and why genuine Doosan parts fit Daewoo trucks.
Where is the serial number on a Daewoo forklift?
On the data plate, usually on the cowl or dash within reach of the seat, and stamped into the frame. The exact spot varies by model; the frame stamp is the fallback when the plate is unreadable.
How accurate is the build month?
Where the exact serial is in Doosan’s records, the build date is the factory date. Between recorded serials the month is estimated from the nearest dated serials above and below; the lookup shows which serials it used so you can judge the range yourself.
Can I get parts for an older Daewoo forklift?
Yes. Once you know the model and prefix, the Quick Reference parts lookup lists the genuine Doosan parts that fit it, and you can request a quote on anything not shown. See also Daewoo forklift parts and Doosan forklift parts.
