LIFT TRUCK SERIES PT09-950924 BC15T BC18T BC20T February 17, 2004 SUBJECT: Brake Lever Part Selection Design changes in the BCT final drive gearbox now require careful selection of the brake actuating lever. Direct comparison easily shows the difference between the two lever styles available. The older style (either A153064 or A153124) uses a two-piece plunger while the new style (A153128) is a unique one-piece design. A153064 and A153124 are identical and interchangeable. This is the original two-piece slave cylinder design with minor improvements added to the A153124 design. It is a replacement for the original A153064 (now obsolete) part. A153128 is the part number for the new design one-piece slave cylinder. The new design is intended for FLAT housings, where the original design had a concave dimple to receive the much longer (by 5.5mm) A153124 two-piece plunger. Rework procedures must mention only two parts: A153124 brake levers for dimpled housings and A153128 levers for flat housings. If the wrong lever is chosen the slave cylinder may bind and cause the brakes to be permanently applied OR the slave cylinder may hyperextend and leak. Old Style Lever New Style Lever
